Having a laugh at the bicycles parked in the background of the food pics. Obviously a college house. Bet he was ecstatic to see you!

AnotherDayofCrazy,
Oh dude, there are four guys living in that 4 story Victorian so you can just imagine the stuff in there. Jeremy seemed very happy to have his family and friends eating together under his roof...was lovely.

My Gorgeous Samantha,

Where are the photos of you? Just food and booze photos here, and one of actual humans. We need more shots of buzzy blond chicas.

I missed you while you were gone. Horribly. The blogosphere is a lonely place when you're not around.

I love you!

Ron My Love,
You know how I feel about pictures, especially of myself so you had to know that would not be happening. Plus I think people that read here are more interested in food/wine/booze than me and my friends and family, at least seeing pictures anyway.

I missed you too Love, missed everyone here but there was just really no time to post as it seemed every second was full of something. I love you too and it is so very nice to be home.

John,
Indeed we are both so very lucky....the rib crushing hug I got confirmed how much we both feel it.

Looks like a blast! Read this post (don't know if you ever read him) and thought of you - hope you are having a good Monday.

Jess,
Was a blast indeed. I checked out that site and he is having the same feelings with Pinot as I did with SoHem Sauvignon Blanc...loved it.

The problem with the recommended article is that it damns every Pinot as if all were cut from the same cloth.

Nice bit of writing. Not surprising because W. Blake Gray is a good writer, but it is too cute by half because, like all general broadsides, acts like folks like Dehlinger and Kosta Browne, Saintsbury and Au Bon Climat were nothing more than adulterers.

Too bad because he is not far wrong about too many wines--although in truth the change in Pinot is not a recent phenomenon.

At the same time, the good Pinots are better than ever. Blake knows that, I think, but this post was not intended to do anything but be a cute way to way to express the frustration we all feel with wines that are heavy and dull.

And, Sam, welcome home. Are you coming north in August? Something about a warkfest?

"family and friends eating together under his roof"...it doesn't get much better than that.

Welcome home, Sam!

Charlie My Dear,
There you are! I was worried that I had crossed some line a few posts back by wishing to have your lips on my cheek....very thankful to see you here. Also thankful that it was someone else's generalization that is being discussed for once. I think Jess thought of me when reading that because I had written something just like that....me breaking up with New Zealand SB and much like that linked piece it was just for fun. Welcome back...I missed you!

Chris,
I really doesn't. Love, laughter, food and wine (well beer and cocktails for some) what is not to love?
