Leaving Memphis

Packing the bags
Disposing of empty bottles and shippers
Wondering how the hell I ended up with red wine stains, on my bra and not my shirt....

Will fill everyone in when I get home but until then, a tiny slide show.

And this, this even happened....

Not a fellow blogger. Nope just a random John Deere loving kid we met at an Irish bar.

 I need a vacation...

Clos Pecoche? UH OH - sounds like a story indeed!

Looks like the night went downhill insofar as Champagne

Jess,
Boo Pecoche, had to do it....

TWG,
Thankfully, or regrettably if you factor in the hangover, the Champagnes that didn't suck were the day AFTER the Irish bar. See?! Need another vacation.

RC Cola and a Moon Pie - you are surely a southern girl! Takes me back to my girlhood - thanks.

webb,
That little treat was brought by Joe Herrig of Suburban Wino, an Atlanta based blogger that wanted to share a traditional Southern treat. Not sure I was a fan of the pairing but I did think it was cool of him to think of that and bring it along to share with us.

No way! If that is really you Adam, it was a pleasure meeting, chatting, sipping crap Champagne and taking shots and nuzzling for photo-ops with you. You were awesome.

OH RC Cola! I'm on a 'no soda' diet at the moment, but I'd break it for just one sip of RC Cola.

Adam,
Dude, trust me, I totally felt the aftermath as well.

Sara,
I haven't had soda in almost eight years. I was once a six pack or 2 liter bottle a day gal. Diet Dr. Pepper...gack. Gave it up after my first trip to France and never looked back. So you can imagine how intensely sweet and syrupy that was for me. It didn't stand a chance so I do not hold it against RC. Gotta be a southern thing as I just barely remember even seeing the stuff out here when I was a user....

Sam,

Being a snob about a weird, ultimately not that awesome brand of soda is a peculiar regional trait. RC Cola, Sundrop, Moxie, Cheerwine...

But at some point you do need to try RC with Bourbon. The cheaper the better, and sneaking it out of a styrofoam cup at a football game is the preferred serving style.

Cheers,
Benito

Oh, and Adam, please check out my blog if you're interested in wine fanatics here in the Memphis area. I'm pretty much responsible for whatever craziness you encountered with Sam and Joe.

Cheers,
Benito

Starting to look like this Yankee brought some south together...

Sam,

This is the joy of being a Malcolm Gladwell "connector". It's part of the reason why I basically operate a soup kitchen for cute single women in their 30s.

Adam,

And dude, I'm currently working on a post about my family's cotton farming operations in Southeast Missouri and NW Tennessee. I unironically own a John Deere apron that was hand stitched for me.

Cheers,
Benito

And yet you begrudge Grace and I our burgeoning love affair?! Humpf!

Benito said...

Sam,

I begrudge nothing, and am delighted at your new friendship with Grace. I am perhaps slightly scared about the prospect of the two of you teaming up to tease me.

Cheers,
Benito

You damn Yankees, always shoving it in our faces what you've done to help us "yokels".

One step forward, two steps back, Sam.
