Never done the Cheetos thing with Champagne, if I can get past my aversion to the "Orange fingers" and orange fingerprints on my right back pocket, (why the hell do we do that?) maybe I'll give it a shot.

The blog has needed a change for a while now and my attempt to "fix" it just jacked the whole thing up. Went to my friend Ben Carter of Benito's Wine Reviews for suggestions on how to fix it and he made me my new header, gave me a new set if you will. I dig it so thanks for noticing! Too much acidity, as suspected, from the tomatoes and not enough flavor/texture with the lettuce...made the Champagne seem hard and just a little bracing. A softer, creamier, maybe even sweeter style bubbly might be better with a BLT but now we know right? Thanks for inspiring me to give it a go!Samantha Duganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05214278596698698245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819829113979242722.post-4292979890726168262012-08-25T19:14:28.076-07:002012-08-25T19:14:28.076-07:00Ron My Love,

I thought I'd posted a comment here. Oops. I'm so late to the party, I guess it doesn't matter any more.

But I love when you write about Champagne. It makes my bits tingle. Do I have bits? I don't know, something's tingling. Your passion for Champagne jumps off the screen. I want to taste all of these wines, and with you. And fried chicken, though the grease would probably scald my naked bits. Oh, did I mention the naked part?

Now don't you wish I'd forgotten to comment? Or did I?

Fuck, I'm confused.

I love you!Ron Washam, HMWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11238869156614617705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819829113979242722.post-3527295385322143942012-08-24T17:20:27.698-07:002012-08-24T17:20:27.698-07:00Valerie,

BLT might work but I would worry about the sweetness of the tomatoes...and that there isn't quite enough fat to make it like the chicken thing. Only one way to know for sure....try it. I have Monday off and have all the fixings, I'll let you know!

gabe,
Welcome to my world.

Sara,
You will love it, trust me. I have customers that now do it once a month because it is so amazing and makes them feel all badass...do it lady.

Thomas,
It is a fine line. We did this event once and I let my coworker talk me into doing fried chicken strips and it was nowhere near as good, salt without the fatty richness the culprit. The thing is, so many of my grower wines have such lovely weight and tremendous structure, they can hold up to a fair amount of salt...something like Clicquot would wither when paired with something like fried chicken as it does have the teeth, power and structure but Saves, no problem.
